Yeah… That’s a clickbait. In reality it’s jusy a GTX 580 with a custom Arctic cooler. It’s a high bin though, top 15%, give or take. At least according to GPU-Z.
In case You didn’t notice – cooler is a bit crooked. It likely got damaged in shipping.
Easy fix though – just bend it back.
Typical – dead VRAM, channel A, IC 0. Onto the machine it goes.
In the meantime I decided to clean it up a bit and obviously delid.
Also, I forgot to take pictures before and after my BGA repair :/
Sorry.
Have this one though:
Since this is quite an unusal heatsink and I didn’t have to reapply thermopads, I replaced thermal paste only this time.
At this point I wasn’t worried about overheating the silicon core, so it was high time to test it.
Ok, so far so good. Time to test the core in Windows.
Well…
Uh…
IT WORKS!
And look at these temps! 55 degrees equilibrium? For a Fermi Furnace? Absolutely exceptional. What’s more, as I said previously, this card is a top 15% GPU of all tested 580s. This very likely is the best core I own.
BONUS: Test result screen from Unigine Heaven Benchmark. Not THAT impressive, but still. I like to see these cards work and score some points.
